Gene Synthesis Anagen Technologies, Inc. offers a complete Gene Synthesis Service. We will design, synthesize, and purify all the necessary oligonuleotides for completing any gene synthesis project. Furthermore, we will do all the PCR, ligation, cloning and sequencing required to complete any gene synthesis project.   The Process of Gene Synthesis: To start out, all the oligonucleotides are synthesized using ABI's automated DNA synthesizers. The resulting DNA is then purified by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The synthesized DNA is assembled into a fragment by annealing, PCR and ligation. Once the fragment is synthesized, it is digested with restriction enzymes to generate cohesive ends for ligation. The DNA fragment is gel purified and cloned into an appropriate plasmid vector, one based on the downstream applications of the end user. The sequence of the constructed gene is verified by automated DNA sequencing using the 377 ABI Sequencer from Applied Biosystems. Turnaround Time: Small fragments (less than 300bp) are normally completed within 2 to 3 weeks. Larger fragments may take 5 to 10 weeks to complete.   Cost: The cost for this complete Gene Synthesis service ranges from $7.00 to $25.00 per base pair, depending on the fragment size. We are flexible, so if the customer performs the designing, cloning and sequencing the cost can be lower.
